Developing proper fine motor skills is essential for children to learn handwriting and manipulating materials with their hands and fingers.  Apart from occupational therapy, one great tool we use at home to help H develop stronger fine motor skills are lacing cards.  They help build hand-eye coordination and the "pincher" ability.   eeBoo makes some that are really colorful and fun.  Helana loves her lacing cards and says she is "sewing", which basically involves similar techniques and skills.
