Musical Monday

Today's Musical Monday was celebrated with the song "My Old Kentucky Home" by Stephen Foster, as a means to usher in our study on Kentucky.

When reviewing the words to our state song, I was shocked and dismayed at a few of the lyrics.  I suppose they were historically accurate and socially "acceptable" at the time it was written, which was 1853, BUT STILL.

I was relieved to find a revised version was published in 1986.  To compare the two, click here.
