Train Exhibit

The Community Arts Center at a nearby town has been hosting a train exhibit through all of February, so the kids and I decided to go check it out on Friday.

Waiting for the ladies to get ready to go….get used to it lil’ man-lol!

They had a great electric train and landscape set up on the main level.

Painting graffiti on a boxcar, just like a “hobo”.  We learned all about Hobo Code, drawings left by hobos that relay messages to other hobos.

A few minutes of coloring before story time.

Stories and singing around a “campfire” by “Hobo Scratch” who told us all about the hobo life and how they are different from “bums” and “tramps”.

Shoveling “coal” just like in a real steam engine.

A little hands-on play.

It was a wonderful way to spend a Friday morning.
