Praying for our brothers and sisters

This week's challenge presented by At The Well's Titus 2 Project is praying for the persecuted church.

We have it so easy here in America, and though I am extremely grateful for where I live, we must not forget our brothers and sisters in Christ in less "friendly" parts of the world.  Many believers must meet in secret or they certainly face torture and death.

God tells us in Galatians 6:2 to "bear one another's burdens, and thus fulfill the law of Christ".  We need to be mindful of and pray for Christians throughout the world who face persecution for their faith.  Jesus assures us that the persecuted shall be blessed, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven, but we need to pray for their comfort, courage and steadfastness as well as their safety.

A good site to keep us mindful of those whose very lives are at risk for Christ is Voice of the Martyrs' Persecution.com.

Will you join me in praying for the persecuted this week?
